Dear Friends:

I'd like to formally introduce myself. For many of you, this introduction is unnecessary, since I was born in Burbank, went to Dulles Grammar School, graduated from Reavis High School, and still live in Burbank. Since opening 'CHUCK'S BBQ', I've seen many familiar faces come in to enjoy my cooking, and I look forward to seeing many more.

For those of you who haven't been in yet, let me tell you a little about myself, my experiences, and my cooking. I took my formal chefs training at Joliet Junior College, where I graduated with honors. After college, I spent several years gathering experience under Rick Bayless, one of America's top chefs, in his renowned Mexican restaurant Topo La Bampo. Rick is an award winning, accomplished chef, has hosted many television cooking specials and has authored and contributed to many cookbooks. You can read more about Rick
HERE.

The fact that I spent several years at Rick's restaurant will often be reflected in the daily specials we offer at CHUCK'S BBQ. I've also done catering for trade shows and numerous private parties. My heart has always been in BBQ, not the BBQ you could do in your backyard but the very slow, specialized process of super slow smoking. For a true quality smoked product, it has to cook for hours, allowing the smoke flavor to permeate the meat. This is the process used at CHUCK'S BBQ!

Before I opened my own restaurant, I took an extensive tour of the famous and not-so-famous BBQ restaurants in the Midwestern and Southern states. In total, this tour covered 13 states, over 3,000 miles, and an unimaginable number of BBQ restaurants. Along the way, I met with the owners, managers, and cooks from each, getting secrets and tips from all of them. Naturally, I tried all of their products to test their sauces and cooking techniques. I still haven't lost the weight put on while spending weeks sampling BBQ products. It's my belief that it was worth it, though, and if you stop in, I think you'll agree.

Besides BBQ products, we offer soup, fresh salads, stews, veggie burgers, catfish po-boys, hamburgers, and sub sandwiches. For our small friends, there is a kids' menu with some of their favorites. If you are planning a graduation party or any kind of get-together, we do catering or just sell our products in bulk. Take a couple of minutes and review the online menus.

Anticipating your arrival,

Chef Chuck Pine
