Hey everybody the details are in for the mardi gras bash for 2008. It will be two nights this year,we got Abita Beer and Tabasco Hot Sauces to sponsor the event, with great giveaways for everyone. The dates are January 29th featuring the zydeco/cajun band Hurricane Gumbo, who put on a great high energy performance, they have played some killer venues like (Taste Of Chicago, Milwaukee Summerfest,Milwaukee's Cajun Fest and Bastille Days Festival, just to name a few)this will be a fun night with plenty of very danceable music, you can check them out at http://hurricanegumbo.net

then on Wednesday January 30th we will be featuring the incredible blues/funk guitarist Wayne Baker Brooks son of blues legend Lonnie Brooks and brother of Ronnie Baker Brooks, he has won numerous awards in the industry(including Best Chicago Blues Tune and Best Chicago Blues Album in the Modern category as well as Best New Talent), and headlined the Chicago Blues Festival with his father and brother. In 2005 the Brooks family received a lifetime achievement award from the Poconos Blues Festival. Wayne Baker Brooks continues to play with his father, as well as fronting the Wayne Baker Brooks Band. check his my space for some of his music

I don't know what show to send you to but maybe going to both will be the answer different food on both nights. the hurricane gumbo night will probably be a little quieter as far as the noise level is concerned, but the blues night will feature one of hte best guitarists you'll ever see. tickets will go on sale on 11/27 and there is alot of interest so don't procrastinate, last year we sold out in like 12 days. We are getting these tickets out in time for Xmas gifts. We also expect to have as cool or even cooler food at this years bash although last year will be tough to beat. The filet mignon Steaks will be back for sure,it should go really smooth this year we learned alot from last year. We also will be doing all the liquor ourselves with more cool drinks, bottles of wine, and abita beer). Parking should be alot more organized but carpooling would really be appreciated if you want to help) thanks everyone, I'm really excited about the events.

P.S. we are also working on doing our own festival this summer (Chuckfest) with live music, beer tent, and 5-6 food tents all run by us. Cajun tent(gumbos, jambalayas, etouffees and crawfish boils, etc.), Mexican tent(grilled carne asada tacos, cochinita pibil, homemade tamales, empanadas, etc.) BBQ tent(fresh smoked pork, ribs, tip, etc.) Fried tent(fried seafood poboys, boudin balls, fries, etc.) and a sweets tent(strawberry shortcakes, cobblers, bananas foster, etc). I have wanted to do this for years and I think this is going to be the year. All the food will be cooked on site fresh, and with lots of flavor. I just got back from New Orleans and went to three incredible fests which make chicago festivals look silly, even the highly over rated Taste of Chicago. Should be a crazy year for us over at Chuck's keep a lookout for the info

Hey, Chuck, thanks for a fabulous night at the Mardi Gras Bash. Everything I ate was absolutely delicious. And the entertainment was spectacular! Can't wait for next year, and I'm hoping that Chuckfest is a reality for all of us this summer! Thanks again, Bernie

Chuck,
Great time this year, we had a table Tuesday night and we are already planning on a bigger group next year. It's great to have something to look forward to in the middle of winter!

Besides the FEAST, the extra cash for the band was well worth it.
