Tapas is a Spanish way of eating where everything is shared at the table, I like to start with some cold items and then go into the hot ones. You would probably average 2-4 dishes per person, the more people you bring the more stuff you get to try!!!

COLD TAPAS

Oysters on the Half Shell—three fresh Virginia oysters served with lemon and our homemade cocktail sauce… $4.95

 

Super Caesar Salad -a spicier version of our Caesar salad with black beans, pico de gallo, grilled red onion, tortilla strips and parmesan cheese. . .$4.95

 

Russian Potato Salad—a garlicky potato salad with the addition of beets.  Awesome but really potent... $4.50

 

Ceviche – fresh gulf Blue Marlin ‘cooked’ in fresh squeezed lime juice, combined with fresh tomato, onion, jalapeno and cilantro with crispy corn tortilla chips….$7.50

 

Ensalada De Salpicon - slow smoked beef brisket, shredded and tossed with a spicy salsa of tomato, onion, cilantro and habanero chiles.  Served in a tortilla cup on a bed of greens with a lime cilantro vinaigrette…$6.50

Barbacoa De Chivo - slow smoked goat (similar to lamb, I love it), coated with a guajillo chile marinade and served in its own broth.  Served with tortillas and a roasted tomato salsa. Try this one, goat is very popular all over the world!...$6.95

 

Borrego Adobado – double cut lamb chop char grilled and brushed with a honey adobo glaze, served with mashed Mexican sweet potato flavored with ginger and sweet spices and a spicy peanut mole...$9.95

 

Camerones En Mojo De Ajo - shrimp sautéed in garlic olive oil.  Topped with a roasted garlic sauce with avocado, black beans, tomato and grilled green onions.  Served with rice pilaf and tortillas...$7.95

 

Carne Asada – 4 oz. seared Allen Bros. beef tenderloin tail atop an earthy ancho chile-wild mushroom sauce.  Served with garlic mashed potatoes...$8.95

 

Chicken Tinga Tostadas—four mini tostadas topped with shredded chicken in a spicy tomato-chipotle sauce.  Garnished with avocado, sour cream, queso anejo cheese, and cilantro...$4.95

 

Chile Anaheim Relleno – a fresh roasted Anaheim chile filled with creamy goat cheese and fresh Mexican herbs served with a tangy roasted tomato salsa . . . $4.95

 

Chile Ancho Relleno – a plump ancho chile stuffed with a combination of crispy fried potatoes and chorizo.  Topped with a sweet and sour ‘escabeche’, a lightly pickled mixture of crunchy vegetables...$7.50

 

Chile en Nogada—a roasted poblano chiles stuffed with picadillo, a savory meat filling with sweet spices and dried fruit.  Smothered in a fresh walnut sauce and garnished with diced grapes. The perfect appetizer!!!$5.95

 

Chipotle Fried Potatoes - fried potatoes in a spicy chipotle-agave nectar sauce...$3.95

 

Cochinita Pibil- pork shoulder rubbed with an achiote rub (special Mexican seasoning).  We slow smoke it overnight until it is really tender and serve it topped with its own natural juices.  Served with tortillas and a side of our orange-habanero salsa...$5.95

 

Enchiladas de Chilorio—a fresh corn tortilla filled with a guajillo chile-spiced shredded pork.  Covered with a creamy avocado salsa, diced onions and cilantro...$4.95

Turkey with Mole Negro - slow smoked turkey served with cheesy-garlic mashed potatoes, roasted corn and our homemade mole Negro (a dark mole with 28 ingredients)...$6.95

 

Oysters Veracruzano—three Virginia oysters baked with a topping of roasted tomato sauce garlic bread crumbs and Mexican cheese...$4.95

 

Papadzules—(2) a very classic Yucatan specialty, two corn  tortillas filled with diced hard boiled eggs, topped with spicy habanero-tomato and pumpkinseed sauces.  Garnished with pickled red onions and cilantro...$5.95

 

Quesadillas de Mole Amarillo—two flour tortillas filled with grilled chicken breast, Monterey Jack cheese and a spicy yellow mole spiked with Mexican herbs (hoja santa)...$5.50

 

Queso Frito – creamy queso fresco (Mexican farmer’s cheese)  quickly seared in a hot pan.  Served with a slightly tart roasted tomatillo sauce with garlicky sautéed Mexican greens...$6.95

 

Shrimp Enchiladas - a flour tortilla filled with grilled shrimp, roasted peppers, onions and Monterey Jack cheese.  Topped with poblano cream sauce, onions, cilantro and sour cream...$7.95

Mysantla Tamal— this is a very different tamal made with a special tropical herb grown all summer in Chuck’s organic garden (Hoya Santa).  We blend that with the tamal dough and top it with a braised duck in mole...$5.50 I love this dish!!
